He made his debut in 2014 and quickly became one of the most promising players in Liga MX.

In May 2018 he was signed by Rayados and shortly thereafter participated in the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia, where he was one of the most outstanding Mexican players.

He also played in the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.

With Monterrey, he contributes both defensively and in attack. He has been champion of Liga MX, Copa MX and CONCACAF Champions League.
