He made his debut in 2009 with River Plate of Argentina. In 2013, he left  for  Europe, where he played for Benfica of Portugal and Eskişehirspor of Turkey.

He played with the Argentina U-18 National Team in the 2011 South American Championship in Peru, where he scored two goals. He was also called up by Argentina's senior national team in friendly matches. 

He joined Rayados in the Apertura 2015, where he has become the top scorer in the Club's history. 

He has won championships in Liga MX, Copa MX and the CONCACAF Champions League. 

In 2021, he became a naturalized Mexican citizen and in 2022 he played in the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar with the Mexican National Team.
