Monterrey will be before the eyes of the world this Thursday!
Rayados of Monterrey will participate in the FIFA Club World Cup 2025, which will be held in the United States from June 15 to July 13.
This will be the first Club World Cup with a new format that will be held every 4 years and in which 32 teams from around the world will participate, divided into eight groups of four clubs each.
This Thursday, December 5, at 12:00 noon Monterrey time (1:00 p.m. in Miami), FIFA will hold the draw to find out the group rivals of the Monterrey team.
In the Group Stage, each team will play against its sector rivals and the top two places in each group will advance to the Final Stage, which will be defined by a single direct elimination match and will begin in the Round of 16.
RULES OF THE DRAW
The 32 clubs have been divided into four pools of eight teams each, according to their confederation's ranking.
Rayados are the highest-ranked team in the CONCACAF ranking, so they are in pot 3.
Each group will consist of one team from each pot.
The draw will begin with one team being drawn from pot 1 and then placed in its respective group.
Once all the teams from pot 1 have been placed in their respective groups, the draw will continue with pots 2, 3 and 4, respectively.
The draw will conclude once all teams in pot 4 have been placed in their respective groups.
RESTRICTIONS
Protocol prevents two teams from the same confederation from being placed in the same group, with the exception of UEFA, which contributes 12 teams to the competition.
All teams in pool 1 will be assigned as group leaders.
The rest of the teams will be placed as their names are drawn in the pots.
