The Football Business Academy (FBA) is proud to welcome CF Monterrey as a new FBA Partner and member of our ever-growing international network.
This agreement seeks to initiate a collaborative journey between the oldest active professional team from the northern part of Mexico and the global leader in football business education, encompassing various aspects. These include knowledge exchange from industry executives, hosting new and well-trained talents during The FBA’s guaranteed internship module, collaborating on the development of Student Business Projects for the club, and participating in FBA Partners’ initiatives and events. Additionally, it aims to contribute positively to the development of the football business in Mexico and enhance their international brand presence, among other benefits.
“Partnering with Club de Fútbol Monterrey is a true honour for The FBA. From the very beginning, they showed great interest in our purpose and clearly understood the benefits of our partnership. We are proud to align with one of the most historic, significant, and robust clubs in Mexico and North America. This strengthens our commitment to growing the football industry in this region. We are deeply grateful to the club and look forward to working together to advance Latin American football.”
Nicolás Martin, Partnerships Manager, The FBA
Founded in 1945, in Guadalupe, the metropolitan area of Monterrey, ‘Rayados’ has won five titles in the Mexican First Division and three in the Copa Mexico. Internationally, the team has won the Concacaf Champions League five times (three of them consecutively) and also a Concacaf Recopa. It is the only team from Concacaf to reach the podium of the Club World Cup twice, finishing third in 2012 and 2019. Monterrey is also the third team globally with the most points in the Club World Cup standings, with seventeen points. In 2017, the Liga MX Femenil was created, giving rise to the Rayadas de Monterrey, which has become one of the best teams in the short history of the competition.
“At Club de Futbol Monterrey, we always strive to achieve the best sporting results and contribute to the benefit of society. This partnership with The Football Business Academy (FBA) allows us to move closer to both objectives. We are very pleased to start this collaboration between our two institutions, which also share common values.“
Pedro Esquivel, Executive VP, Club de Fútbol Monterrey.
Through the signing of this collaboration agreement, both entities shall enrich each other by cooperating on strategically significant subjects, unlocking valuable opportunities for both The FBA and Monterrey. The main goal includes providing a comprehensive learning environment for FBA Master Candidates—future industry professionals—as well as cultivating synergies aligned with the club’s business plans and development strategies.
