Rayados failed to score points in the visit of the Chivas to the Estadio BBVA, keeping them with 28 points and dropping to second place in the Clausura 2024 Tournament on points difference.

Monterrey started with intensity and looking for the opponent's goal, however, Gerardo Arteaga was sent off before halftime and, in the second half, the red and white team won the match 2-0.

At minute 13, Maxi Meza shot from half distance, trying to surprise goalkeeper José Rangel, but the ball went wide.

At minute 30, in a very intense play, Germán Berterame finished off a low cross from Stefan Medina, but the Chivas goalkeeper denied the ball. On the rebound, Gerardo Arteaga came close to opening the scoring.

Brandon Vazquez headed in a cross from Germán Berterame, but the red and white goalkeeper prevented the goal at minute 50.

Esteban Andrada reacted brilliantly to a shot by Erick Gutierrez and kept the ball at minute 64.

Brandon Vazquez again came close to scoring at 70', with a shot at the near post that went wide of the goal.

At minute 82, the referee sent off Jorge "Corcho" Rodríguez for a sweep on Roberto "El Piojo" Alvarado.

In the closing stages of the match and despite being two men down, Monterrey pushed forward in search of the equalizer.
