Monterrey tied 1-1 with Xolos in Matchday 9 played on Wednesday at the Estadio Caliente in Tijuana.

The albiazules persisted and, in the final stretch, managed to tie.

At minute 29, Víctor López sent a trough ball to Brandon Vazquez, who shot towards the goal, but defender Diego Barbosa deflected the ball for a corner kick.

Minutes later, Stefan Medina made a great defensive play in a Xolos counterattack, cutting off a cross from Francisco Contreras for Kevin Balanta.

In the second half, Fernando Ortíz adjusted and, after falling behind, Monterrey equalized through Sergio Canales.

Rodrigo Aguirre took a mid-range shot at minute 53, but the ball went just wide of goalkeeper Jose Rodríguez's goal.

Minutes later, Canales himself tried another shot from half distance that went just over the goal.

With this result, Rayados now have 19 points and a goal difference of +10, making them the leaders of the Liga BBVA MX.

This Sunday, March 3, at 7:00 p.m., the team from Monterrey will host Pumas UNAM at the Estadio BBVA for Matchday 10.
