It was a night of goals and a triumph of Rayados at the Border!

Monterrey defeated FC Juarez 3-0, in Matchday 8 of the Clausura 2024 played this Friday at the Estadio Olímpico Benito Juárez.

Monterrey started the match attacking from the start, but it was not until the second half that Rayados scored the three winning goals.

At 23', Sergio Canales came close to opening the scoring with an acrobatic finish that was deflected by goalkeeper Sebastián Jurado.

Maxi Meza tried a powerful shot from the right side of the box, but again the goalkeeper denied the ball.

Minutes later, Víctor Guzman made a great defensive play to prevent Aitor García's goal, and on the second play, Esteban Andrada did the same against Michael Santos' shot.

Before the second half, Germán Berterame came close to scoring a goal when he beat goalkeeper Sebastian Jurado, but the Juarez defense prevented the Monterrey goal.

In the second half, Fernando Ortiz made some adjustments and Rayados got the three points as visitors.

With this victory, Monterrey reached 18 points and moved into second place in the General standings.

This Wednesday, February 28, at 21:00, Rayados will visit Xolos of Tijuana in Matchday 9 of the Clausura 2024.
