Rayados de Monterrey are looking to add quality and contribution to the team's defense and attack with the signing of Mexican player Gerardo Arteaga.

Gerardo, 25 years old, arrives to Monterrey on a permanent transfer and with a contract until December 2027.

The player has proven his quality at club and National Team level, and contributes in defensive and attacking aspects, in addition to offering internal competition and tactical variants for the team.

Gerardo made his debut in 2016 with Santos Laguna, a team with which he won the Clausura 2018 Liga BBVA MX title.

Thanks to his outstanding performances, the defender was called up to the Mexican National Team in its youth categories, going through the U-21, U-22 and U-23.

He made his debut in 2018 with the Mexican Senior National Team, where he continued to demonstrate his talent and attracted the attention of European clubs.

In 2020, he was signed by KRC Genk, Belgium, a team with which he won the Belgian Cup in 2021 and with which he played the Jupiler Pro League, the Conference League, the Europa League and the Champions League.

With the Mexican National Team, he participated in the 2019 and 2021 Gold Cup, and won the 2023 edition.

In addition, he was called to be part of the team that played in the Qatar 2022 World Cup.
