It was a night of goals, victory, leadership and joy at Estadio BBVA!

With three great goals, Rayados of Monterrey defeated Atletico de San Luis 3-1 in Matchday 3 of the Clausura 2024 Tournament.

As was the case prior to Wednesday's match on Matchday 4, a minute of silence was taken and the captains of both teams gave a few words in memory of Maribel Mercado Gallegos, a Rayados fan who passed away on Sunday in Torreon.

The match began with Monterrey looking for the opponent's goal and pushing all over the field.

Esteban Andrada, who was specially recognized by the Club before the game after completing 100 games with Monterrey, made a one-handed save on a corner kick to prevent a San Luis goal at minute 8.

At minute 27, Germán Berterame took a powerful shot from outside the area, but the ball went just wide of Andres Sanchez's goal.

Jorge Rodriguez gave a precise through ball to Brandon Vazquez, who with two touches deceived the goalkeeper and scored in the bottom corner for his brace.

In the second half, Fernando Ortiz's men maintained their winning attitude, and a great goal by Sergio Canales secured the victory for the albiazul team.

With the win, Monterrey reached 10 points and took the lead in the Liga BBVA MX Torneo Clausura 2024.
