Rayados defeated Club Santos 2-0 in Matchday 2 of the Torneo Clausura 2024, played at the Estadio Corona (TSM).

The blue-and-whites started pushing and in the first few minutes managed to open the scoring courtesy of Maxi Meza.

After possessing the ball with great technique, Maxi shot at the base of goalkeeper Carlos Acevedo's post to open the scoring.

Alfonso González took a shot at goal at minute 17, however, the ball ended up in Acevedo's hands.

In the second half, the blue-and-whites continued to push high and managed to extend their lead.

At minute 52, Esteban Andrada made a great save to deflect a difficult shot by Harold Preciado.

With a powerful shot from the half-circle, Jordi Cortizo sent the ball just inside the post to score a goal.

Jorge Rodríguez and Brandon Vazquez, who arrived to reinforce Monterrey for the Clausura 2024, made their debut in this match.

With this victory, Rayados reached 6 points and are in second place in the General Standings.

This Wednesday, January 24, at 7:00 p.m., Monterrey will host Querétaro at Estadio BBVA for Matchday 4.
