RAYADOS GOES FOR A COMEBACK AT HOME

29 de November de 2023. 11:35 pm.

Rayados lost 1-0 to Atlético de San Luis in the first leg of the Quarter-Finals on Wednesday at the Estadio Alfonso Lastras.

This Saturday night, with the support of their fans at Estadio BBVA, Monterrey will be looking for the comeback that will allow them to advance to the Semifinal of the Torneo Apertura 2023.

The match in San Luis started with both teams cautious. As the minutes passed, Rayados took the lead. Despite the Regios' attempts to open the scoring, it was the locals who managed to score.

At minute 9, Alfonso González shot from half distance, but goalkeeper Andrés Sánchez prevented the goal.

After a corner kick, Jürgen Damm pulled one back for Ricardo Chávez, who fired in a right-footed shot to open the scoring.

Sebastián Vegas shot from half distance at minute 42, however, the goalkeeper from Potosí stopped the ball.

In the second half, Fernando Ortíz's men sought to turn the score around.

Esteban Andrada was the hero when he deflected a difficult shot that was finally saved by Sebastián Vegas.

Andrada himself made a great save, after a shot from outside the area by Sebastien Salles at minute 60, to prevent the Potosí goal.

At minute 67, Jesús "Tecatito" Corona sent in a cross that Germán Berterame connected with to send the ball into the back of the net. However, the goal was disallowed due to Berterame's offside.

With this result, Rayados will be looking for a win in the second leg this Saturday, December 2 at 9:10 p.m. (CT) at Estadio BBVA to advance to the Semifinal.
