Rayados del Monterrey defeated Necaxa 3-0 in Matchday 15 of Torneo Apertura 2023 played at the Estadio BBVA.

Monterrey started the match on the lead and looked for the opponent's goal from the first minutes. It was in first half stoppage time when Sebastián Vegas scored the go-ahead goal, and Germán Berterame and Víctor López sealed the score in the second half.

Omar Govea had the first opportunity at minute 10, when he took advantage of a rebound from the Necaxa defense and shot, but his shot went over the opponent's goal.

At minute 19, Alfonso González took a corner kick and Jesus Gallardo headed the ball straight into the hands of goalkeeper Luis Unsain.

In the second half, Monterrey stayed in front and looked to extend the lead, and managed to do so through German Berterame and Víctor López.

After a lobbed pass from Luis Romo to get past the Necaxa defense, Germán Berterame volleyed the ball in for Monterrey’s second goal. Germán’s awesome goal! 

Sebastián Vegas took another corner kick, but the Necaxa goalkeeper reacted brilliantly and deflected the header at minute 90.

Rayados kept up the pressure and, after arrivals by Joao Rojas, "Tecatito" Corona, Germán Berterame and César Garza, managed to extend the lead through Víctor López.

After making a double feint, “Chespi” scored a great goal with a powerful shot from outside the box.

With this result, the Rayados reached 26 points and remained in third place in the season standings with a game in hand.

On Saturday, November 4, at 9:05 p.m., Monterrey will visit Pachuca at the Estadio Hidalgo with the intention of earning three more points.
