With great motivation and pride, Rayados will face Tigres this Saturday in the 133rd edition of the Clasico Regio.
The match, corresponding to Matchday 9 of the Apertura 2023 Tournament, will be played at 21:05 hours at the Estadio Universitario.
Monterrey has two wins, two draws and one defeat in the last five matches against Tigres.
Monterrey eliminated Tigres in the Round of 16 of the Leagues Cup 2023, in Houston, Texas, in the last Clásico Regio they played.
In the regular tournament of the Liga BBVA MX, the most recent Clásico Regio was played at the Estadio Universitario, on Matchday 12 of the Clausura 2023.
In that Liga match, Monterrey won 1-0 with a terrific goal from Luis Romo from outside the box.
Now, the team coached by Fernando Ortiz will be looking for another victory and to climb even higher in the season standings.
The Rayados come to the Clásico Regio in seventh place in the Apertura 2023, with 13 points and a game in hand, and a win could take them to third place in the tournament.
Sergio Canales, the Spanish reinforcement, is the team's current top scorer with three goals.
Canales is also the last Rayados player to score a goal in the Clásico Regio, which he did in the Leagues Cup 2023.
This will be the first time in 10 years that Jesús "Tecatito" Corona will play a Clásico Regio.
The last time "Tecatito" played in a Clásico Regio was on April 27, 2013, in the Torneo Clausura 2013, when Monterrey defeated Tigres 1-0 with a goal by Leobardo Lopez.
Let's go for the win in the Clasico Regio 133, Rayados!
