Rayadas defeated Santos Femenil 3-1 at the Estadio TSM in Matchday 10 of the Apertura 2023.

Carlee Giammona opened the score at minute 14. Three minutes later, Santos tied the score and, at minute 37, Burkenroad gave Monterrey the lead back in the first half. At the start of the second half, Giammona scored her brace to reach the end score of 3-1.

Rayadas started the match attacking and had the first opportunity at minute 9, when Jermaine Seoposenwe crossed for Chinwendu Ihezuó, who sent the ball to the post.

Carlee cut back to Arlett Tovar and Sheila Pulido inside the box and fired home to open the score.

After a cross from Cynthia Rodriguez, Luisa de Alba headed to the goal to tie the match. 

After a good cross from Fatima Servin on the right flank, Chinwendu shot a diving head, but goalkeeper Hannia de Avila deflected the ball for a corner kick.

Carlee Giammona sent a long through ball to Jermaine Seoposenwe, who crossed low for Christina Burkenroad. The forward connected to give Rayadas the lead and her ninth goal of the tournament.

In the second half, Monterrey added to the lead with another goal by Carlee Giammona.

The American player took a powerful shot. The ball hit the defender Arlett Tovar and deflected into the goal.

During the rest of the second half, Rayadas tried to extend the score but the game ended 3-1 in favor of Monterrey.

With this result, Monterrey now has 19 points and remains in fifth place in the season standings.

On Friday, September 15 at 9:00 pm, the Rayadas will host the Tuzos de Pachuca at the Estadio BBVA for Matchday 11 of the Apertura 2023.
